Reservations & Booking

How do I book a stay at Gaines Ranch on the Square?
Visit our booking page to check availability and reserve directly. You can book a single suite, multiple suites, or the entire property. For wedding weekends, group reservations, or custom-quote stays, contact us directly.

Why book direct instead of through Airbnb or Vrbo?
Booking direct gets you the best available rates (no third-party service fees), real-time access to all five suites, the most flexible policies, and direct support before, during, and after your stay.

How far in advance should I book?
Wedding weekends and major Wimberley event weekends fill 6–12 months out. For non-event weekends, 3–6 months is typical. Last-minute stays are possible if dates are open — check the live calendar.

Can I book the entire property?
Yes. Visit The Whole Ranch to reserve all five suites for your group — sleeps 18, perfect for wedding weekends, family reunions, and milestone celebrations.

What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellation for The Whole Ranch is full refund if cancelled greater than 30 days prior to start of reservation. Individual rooms receive a full refund if cancelled greeter than 14 days prior to stay. For specific questions about modifying or canceling a confirmed reservation, please contact us directly.


Check-In & Logistics

What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in is at 4:00 PM. Check-out is at 11:00 AM. — reach out in advance.

How do I check in?
Easy self check-in via secure digital access codes. Before arrival, the lead booker receives a digital welcome guide with codes, parking directions, Wi-Fi access, and curated local recommendations. No front-desk wait.

Is parking included?
Yes. On-site parking is included for each room. Cutter's Quarter's has two dedicated spaces and The Homestead has ADA parking space.

Is Wi-Fi included?
Yes. High-speed Wi-Fi is available throughout the property. Network name and password are in your digital welcome guide.

Are TVs and streaming available?
Yes — smart TVs in every suite (Roku-enabled). Sign in with your own streaming accounts (Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, YouTube TV, and more). We automatically log you out at check-out for your privacy.

Is there laundry on-site?
On-site laundry isn't available, but a highly-rated laundromat is just a few minutes away. Details are in your digital welcome guide.

Is the property staffed during my stay?
We don't have a 24/7 front desk — we're a self-service boutique property. Your welcome guide includes a direct number for prompt assistance, and we typically respond within an hour during business hours.


Suites & Accessibility

How many suites are there?
Five boutique suites, all on the historic Wimberley Square: The Homestead (ADA), Cutter's Quarters, Rancher's Rest, The Corral, and The Lazy Spur. Plus the option to reserve the entire property as The Whole Ranch.

Do you offer an ADA-accessible suite?
Yes. The Homestead is a ground-floor, ADA-accessible king suite with step-free entry, a private entrance, and an accessible bathroom. The other four suites are upstairs.

Are children welcome?
Yes — Gaines Ranch on the Square welcomes guests of all ages. For specific arrangements like cribs or pack-and-plays, contact us in advance.

What are the bed configurations?


What's Provided in Each Suite

Each suite is stocked with everything you need for a comfortable stay — designed so you can arrive and unwind without a stop at the store.

Bath & Bedding: Comphy® luxury sheets, down-alternative bedding, extra blankets, plush bath towels, hand towels, washcloths, makeup towels, robes, clothing steamer, hangers.

Bathroom Essentials: Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, toilet paper, hair dryer.

Coffee Bar & Kitchenette: Keurig coffee maker with curated K-Cups, sugar and creamer, mugs and glassware, mini-fridge.

Entertainment: Smart TVs in every suite (Roku-enabled) with access to your favorite streaming apps — Netflix, Hulu, YouTube TV, Disney+, and more. Just sign in with your own accounts when you arrive.

In-Room: High-speed Wi-Fi, climate control, work-friendly surfaces.

Property Policies

Are pets allowed?
We're a pet-free property — this lets us maintain a clean, allergen-free environment for all guests, comply with insurance requirements, and prevent damage.

Is smoking or vaping permitted?
No. Smoking, vaping, and tobacco use of any kind is not permitted anywhere on the property — indoors or outdoors. This includes cigarettes, cigars, e-cigarettes, and vapes. Violations may result in immediate removal without refund and cleaning fees charged to the card on file.

Can we host a party or event on-site?
Parties, events, and gatherings exceeding the suite's occupancy aren't permitted without prior written approval. This includes loud celebrations, commercial events, and excessive noise. Quiet, considerate gatherings within suite occupancy limits are welcome — for anything bigger, contact us in advance.

What about quiet hours?
Quiet hours are observed from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM. As a downtown property with neighbors and shared common spaces, considerate volume helps everyone enjoy their stay.

What if something gets damaged during my stay?
Accidents happen — just let us know as soon as possible. Reasonable wear and tear is expected. For significant damage, the cost may be charged to the card on file. Optional damage protection is available at booking.


Lost & Found

I left something behind. Can you ship it to me?
Yes — we ship lost items back to guests within 30 days of check-out. Email or text us with what's missing and we'll confirm we have it, share the shipping cost, and get it back to you. Most items ship within 1–2 business days with tracking once payment is confirmed.

How much does shipping cost?
Shipping is billed at actual cost plus a small handling fee that varies by package size. Smaller items (chargers, jewelry, toiletries) are typically shipped for around $35; larger items (clothing, books, shoes) around $50–75; oversized items like luggage are priced at actual cost plus service.

What happens to unclaimed items?
Items unclaimed after 30 days are donated to a local Wimberley charity. Please reach out as soon as you realize something's missing.


Wedding Weekends & Group Stays

Is Gaines Ranch good for wedding weekends?
Yes — it's one of the most popular wedding-weekend lodging options in Wimberley. Walkable downtown, individual private suites for the wedding party, and shared spaces for gathering. Many local wedding venues are within a 15-minute drive.

Can we host the rehearsal dinner or brunch on-site?
Small private gatherings within suite occupancy are welcome (rehearsal dinner for the wedding party, brunch the morning after, etc.). For anything larger, we'd be happy to recommend Wimberley venues. Contact us to discuss your plans.

How do I book the whole property?

Local Wimberley

Is the property walkable to restaurants, shops, and the creek?
Yes. We're directly on Wimberley Square — about 2 minutes to shops and galleries, 5 minutes to wine bars and restaurants, and 10 minutes to Cypress Creek. Park once. Walk everywhere.
