Wimberley Square: Shops, Wineries & Live Music

Where boutique lodging meets the heart of Wimberley — park once, walk everywhere.

Most Hill Country stays leave you in the car. Gaines Ranch on the Square doesn't. We're at 204 Wimberley Square — steps from the shops, galleries, restaurants, live music, and weekend market that make Wimberley one of the most-loved small towns in Texas.

Park once. Walk everywhere. That's the whole idea.

Everything's Just Steps Away

What's Around the Square

Wimberley Square is the original town center — anchored by independent boutiques, art galleries, antique shops, and family-run restaurants. On the first Saturday of every month from March through December, Wimberley Market Days takes over Lions Field with 490 booths on 20 oak-shaded acres — the Texas Hill Country's largest outdoor market. Year-round, you'll find live music, wine tastings, and small-town events that draw visitors from across the region.

And because Cypress Creek is right behind us — just past Cabins on the Square — the water is as close as the shops. For the official town calendar and more to explore, Visit Wimberley has you covered.

Shop Downstairs: Tarry Lifestyle + Home

You don't even have to leave the building to start exploring. On the ground floor of Gaines Ranch on the Square, Tarry Lifestyle + Home is an independent boutique built around beauty, ease, and a little everyday tranquility — relaxed-yet-refined women's apparel and denim, jewelry, thoughtful gifts, and home decor for every corner of the house. Browse before breakfast, after a creek walk, or on your way out the door, and ask about their personal shopping if you want a hand putting a look together.

Henson Square: Independent Shops & a Hill Country Wine Bar

A short walk from your suite, our family also owns Henson Square — a handpicked collection of independent shops and tasting rooms just off the main Wimberley Square. It's anchored by Jaclynn Renée Wine Collective, the tasting room for an award-winning, small-batch winery pouring Texas Hill Country and Sonoma County wines — a relaxed spot to settle in with a glass. You'll also find Wildflower, Texaholic, and Nightbird, with regular live music in the courtyard on weekends and event nights.

Whether you're shopping, sipping, or just chasing the music, it's all an easy stroll from your front door at Gaines Ranch on the Square.

Why Stay on the Square

You can find a Hill Country cabin almost anywhere. You can't find one on Wimberley Square. That's our edge — and it's why we built Gaines Ranch on the Square here. Every suite, the courtyard, the front-porch swings — all of it sits in the most walkable, most photographed corner of one of Texas's best small towns.
